Buffy was still upset, leaving Dawn at the train station with Faith and heading for Angel's hotel. She knew, if anyone was here, he would be here. She'd deal with it if she ran into Spike but she was still afraid to face him. It was easier with Angel, kind of. She knew her and Angel would always love eachother but they couldn't be together, which hurt. She just blocked out the pain though. She didn't want anyone to see her like that. As strong as she was, she wasn't strong enough. She didn't see anyone as she walked into the hotel and she looked around. Wondering where everyone was, she debated on ringing the bell. It was old and rusty, probably didn't work anymore.
"Angel, is anyone here?"

It hadn't been a good few days. Apart from the hearing that the Slayer was back in town, haunting Angel's pad, and...everything that had happened, and Dru...no, Spike hadn't had a good time. Hadn't been relaxed - even fighting with Faith or indulging into Blue's whims didn't much help. How could they? When he had to...had to try to help...her...
He swallowed convulsively as he closed the door to his basement room behind him, moving through the space he and Angel fought over all the time (what did the poufter expect? Spike was a vampire, living upstairs would make him burn. He didn't want to have to share the little parts down here, but it couldn't he helped. Fighting was fun though), towards the lift. He had to go out, get some more blood, track down those lawyers, do...something. Kill something. Anyway.
Shrugging into his duster, Spike rode the elevator up towards the main foyer, stepping out as soon as the doors swung open. Perhaps, if he'd been thinking about anything else other than her, if he'd been concentrating, he would have sensed the blonde on the way up, and gone out another way. But he was distracted, and lost in thought, and so the only clue he got to Buffy's presence was when he looked up and saw her.
He draw to a halt, suddenly.
"Oh..."

She was almost betting on seeing Angel. She knew he'd find out she was in town sooner or later. Just to make it easier, she hoped it was sooner rather than later. That was part of the reason she was here. She knew it was going to be hard but she had to help in any way she could. She couldn't explain it but for some reason she felt as if everyone was avoiding her. She hadn't seen any of the Slayers or members of the gang. She felt alone, as usual, and for some odd reason it gave her a bad feeling in her gut. He may not have sensed her but she knew exactly who to expect when a figure stepped out of the elevator. She just stared at him, not knowing exactly what to say. She wasn't going to tell him she missed him. There was no way those words were coming from her mouth. At least not until she knew how he felt about seeing her again. He looked surprised and she wondered why. Surely he'd known she was in town. Faith would have told him. Maybe he just wasn't expecting her. She didn't care really. She was just glad he wasn't dead.
"You look surprised."

Oh...bugger. Bollocks. Shagging, knickers, soddin'...bollocks. Spike winced slightly - he hadn't wanted to see her. Well no, that was wrong, he had wanted to. He still cared for her, he always would, because that was who he was...but he'd died, and come back, and it made things complicated, and he wasn't sure how to deal with this. She was the reason he'd been avoiding the hotel, or the local Slayer patrols - kicking ass with Faith or trying to teach Blue how to be human.
Until everything with Dru, that is. Now...he was here. And so was she.
Again, bugger seemed to be a good word.
"I...didn't expect to..." he faltered, voice nervous. How was he meant to act around her? "Umm....yeah. Suprised. Shocked, more like. I...wasn't still meant to be in here when you came a visiting."

Buffy wasn't sure at all how to deal with this either. She wanted to be happy but it just seemed awkward to see him again. She was happy he was alive and happy to see him again but she didn't feel at all how she expected to feel. Sure she was shocked, especially at the fact that no one had told her he was alive. That was besides the point though. She knew she should've stayed in Sunnydale, even if they needed her here. This just proved it even more. He didn't seem happy to see her either, which sort of confused her. She loved him but she didn't know exactly how to feel anymore.
"You didn't think I should know? Well, obviously nobody thought I should know."
